Introducing Image Web Search

March 4, 2026

We built a tool that finds real-world images for you. Image Web Search is a new agentic tool that takes an intent, searches the web, and picks the photo that fits best.

The Problem

If you're building an agent that produces visual content, you hit a wall the moment it needs a real photograph. A picture of a specific person, a place, an event. AI can't generate that. It has to come from somewhere.

Until now, that somewhere was a human. Someone had to go find the images, download them, and hand them to the pipeline. It's the kind of manual step that breaks the whole point of automation. And in design workflows, it's been one of the biggest bottlenecks.

What It Is

Image Web Search takes a description of what you're looking for, searches Google and other image sources, then reasons about the results to pick the one that matches your intent the closest.

Think of it as giving your agent the ability to Google an image and choose the right one. No human in the loop.

What's Next

This is version 1. It works, but we know where to push it.

We're working on expanding the number of images it considers per query and reducing the reasoning time. The goal is to make it faster and more reliable over the coming months, and we're doing that in collaboration with partners and customers who are already using it.

Get It

Image Web Search is available now in the API and in the Playground.
